Nanotechnology applied to the value chain of the carpet sub-sector.

The main objective of the NANOCARPET project is the development of different functionalisation solutions for carpets and rugs based on the use of nanotechnological compounds in the value chain of this sub-sector of the textile industry. More specifically, there are three unresolved problems to be studied in this business cooperation project:

    • Improved fire resistance of wool/polyamide blends.

    • Improving the biocidal performance of wool and wool-based carpets.

    • Improving the UV fastness of wool carpets and wool-based carpets.

The companies that make up the consortium are: Hilaturas Textiles Crevillente, Sualfombra, Francotex and T.A.P.I.S.A.
